A closer look
A memory of shapes and colours.
Growing up in South Carolina, Jim Shore discovered a love of American folk art through his family. Quilting patterns and decorative painting became part of his visual vocabulary.
Before making art his full-time work, he was an engineer who continued to paint and sculpt. Geometry, flowers and carved-looking surfaces turn familiar characters into small stories.
Launched in 2005, Disney Traditions brings this language to Disney storytelling. Enesco also presents Jim Shore collections inspired by Peanuts, Harry Potter, the Grinch, Beetlejuice and DC Comics. Heartwood Creek explores his original imagery. Each line is manufactured in series from the artist’s designs.
